Verification meeting
At the beginning of a tournament, a “Verification Meeting” must be held with a representative of each team, normally the team manager.
That meeting is, by definition, under the authority of the Technical Delegate or Chairman of the TTC.
At that meeting, the team manager must provide
- the team list, with all players, playing number, date of birth and (proposed) class, also indicating who are new players,
- all last issued official player and classification cards, and
- valid passports or identity cards for all players, proving their nationality and date of birth.
The chair of the classification panel will check all the info relating to classification and will know after this which players have to be observed with priority. The first observation will take place at the first training session, which will not be interrupted by the classifiers.
A representative of the TD or Chairman of the TTC will check on the basis of the passport or identity card the (correct spelling of) the name, the date of birth and the nationality of a player.
Usually, each meeting with a team representative will not take longer than 10 minutes.
Chair checking will take place 15 minutes after the observation training. A team representative will have to present all the chairs for the chair checks (by laser and metre). The player may be there, but that is not obliged and he is not entitled to sit in his chair during the chair check. If the chair is not correct, the team is advised to change it.
Referees or game commissioners can direct chair checks during games. An incorrect chair leads to disqualification of the player.
